2 anticipation

 

This is the wide up before the action, like how someone leans back a bit before sneezing or bends their legs before they jump. It shows what the character is doing/going to do—even if it doesn’t tell you why.

In earlier animations the wide up was missing and often that left the audience confused and unsure of what just happened. Only later did animators see how anticipation could help with their projects.
